Please note, the transitional arrangements for marine fin fish farm applications to SEPA (1st June to 31st December) will come to an end on 31st December.
You can find an overview of the information needed to support applications submitted from 1st January 2020 here.
From 1st January 2020, our complete, new system of pre-application support will be in operation to help you through the application process. We have designed the pre-application system to give you certainty about the information we will need to determine your applications. Applications with missing or inadequate information cause delays and can result in extra costs if, for example, you have to re-do modelling or baseline surveys. You can find details of the pre-application system here. If you are planning to develop a farm, to start the pre-application process, please register your proposal using the form available on the “pre-application proposal” tab. We recommend you do this at an early stage in your planning.
The information we need to determine an application is summarised here. We will update our web pages whenever changes are made and we welcome any feedback on them. Please also note that, any applications received after 1st January 2020 not accompanied by all of the information we require will be returned as incomplete.
If you want to discuss any aspect of the application process, please contact us using the email addresses or phone number provided on our pre-application discussions web page. Alternatively, get in touch with your SEPA company lead who will put the appropriate person in touch with you.
