Invicta Trout Farm – Experienced farm hand

Invicta trout is looking for an experienced farm hand to join its team just outside Dumfries in Scotland. The farm is a hatchery and restocking site so the applicant will work with the full life cycle of the fish and be able to have an input at every stage of their growth. Production is over 1.3 million fingerlings and over 100 tonnes of restocking trout a year. The work is physical and very hands on so you need to be fit and healthy to do this, the main stay of the job would be feeding and grading as well as the upkeep of the site. Accommodation is available as you will be required to join in the one in 4 weekend work as well as on call.

Essential

• Full driving licence
• Salmonid Fish farm experience
• Full understanding of the English language both spoken and written
• Computer skills

Desired

• 5 t lorry
• Working knowledge of quality assurance schemes such as Global gap and freedom foods
• Mechanical, electrical and joinery skills
• Fish health experience
